Connecting Wireless Personal Devices for Campus Residents

"ufdevice" Network

The "ufdevice' network is a hidden network available to campus residents which is used to connect their personal devices that cannot connect to the "eduroam" wireless network to the Internet. The most common devices are gaming consoles, smart TVs, printers, and streaming devices. 

 

How to Connect to the "ufdevice" Network

Note: To connect your device to "ufdevice" you will need to have the wireless MAC address for your device on hand. For assistance finding your MAC address, please see How to Find My MAC Address. 
  1. On a device that is already connected to the Internet, navigate to getonline.ufl.edu.
  2. Click the Other Devices button.
  3. Enter the MAC address of the device you want to connect into the "Enter MAC Address" field.
  4. Select  the  "wireless" button.
  5. Select your device type from the "Select Device Type" drop down menu.
  6. Click the "Submit" button. 
  7. On the device you are trying to connect, select the "ufdevice" network from the network connections menu. 
  8. Enter gogators into the "password" field when prompted. 

Your device should now be connected to the Internet.  If you are still not connected after an hour, please contact the UFIT Help Desk for assistance.
