Body
Syllabus
Most instructors post the syllabus in the Syllabus tab, but it may also appear in Modules or Files. The syllabus typically includes grading policies, assignment schedules, communication methods, and required course materials. Students should read it carefully at the start of the term and revisit it, as instructors sometimes update it throughout the semester.
Inbox (Communication)
e-Learning communication occurs primarily through the Inbox (Conversations) tool. It allows students to message instructors, TAs, and classmates. Messages sent also forward to UF email (GatorMail), and replies return to e-Learning. The Inbox can be organized by archiving messages and searching by recipient or keyword.
Instructor Contact
Course instructors often have their contact information, including office hours, email, and phone numbers, listed on the syllabus and this information can often also be found on the course home page or announcements.
To Do List Locations
The To Do list is visible in multiple places: the global Dashboard sidebar (all courses), individual course home pages (course-specific), the Calendar page right-side menu, and the course summary under Syllabus if enabled by the instructor. It functions as a quick reference for upcoming deadlines.
Grades
To view your grades for a selected course:
- Go to the course you want to see grades for.
- In Course Navigation, click the Grades link.
From the grades page you can select the Course for which you want to view grades. By default, grades are sorted chronologically by assignment due date. In the Arrange by menu, you can also sort by module, assignment name, or assignment group. To see the specified grades, click the Apply button. Assignments that are not part of a module will be shown at the end of the assignments list in alphabetical order. However, if modules or assignment groups aren't used in your course, they won't be included as sorting options.
You can view the name of the assignment, the assignment due date, the assignment submission date the assignment status, the score you earned, and the total point value of the assignment [8]. You may also be able to view whether the assignment includes scoring details, comments, or rubrics.
You may see various grade icons in the score column indicating the type of assignment you submitted. These assignments have not been graded by your instructor. Once the assignment is graded, the icon will be replaced by your score.
The grades page also lets you create hypothetical or What-If grades. You can click any score field and approximate your grade for both graded assignments (if want to submit an assignment) and ungraded assignments.
To print your grades, click the Print Grades button.
