Users who have previously attempted to uninstall the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client by moving the Cisco folder to the trash will be presented with the following error upon the next installation attempt:

Note: Version number in the error you receive may differ from the above image, the process to fix the issue remains the same regardless.

Enter the following command in the Terminal app on your Mac to correct the discrepancy:

  1. sudo pkgutil --forget com.cisco.pkg.anyconnect.vpn | press Enter

  1. Enter  your macOS password | press Enter

Note: For security purposes a password entry will appear blank to the user.

Future installation attempts of Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client will now proceed without error.

Not Receiving the Duo Push

Sometimes when connecting to the UF GatorLink VPN the Duo push notification does not come through, in this case you should open the Duo app when attempting to connect to the VPN and the prompt should then appear.

Append Mode

If you do not have the Duo app set up, or if it is not working for you, then you can use append mode. Append mode allows you to manually chose which form of Duo verification to use.

For more information about how to use append mode, please see question two on the UFIT VPN FAQ.
