HiPerGator accounts use institutional account authentication. Depending on which credentials are used for authentication, HiPerGator accounts can be classified as UF internal, InCommon federated, and external accounts. Internal and federated accounts use GatorLink or federated institutional credentials for authentication. A prospective HiPerGator user who doesn’t have a UF GatorLink or an account with an institution that is a member of the InCommon Federation must request an external GatorLink account and work with UFIT HelpDesk to obtain it before they will be able to submit a HiPerGator account request. This also applies to current HiPerGator users who will be leaving UF if they fall into the external user category when their GatorLink account expires.
