Depending on the authentication credentials used, HiPerGator accounts can be classified as UF internal, Federated, or External. This service type is used in conjunction with an External GatorLink account request form to request a GatorLink account that can be later used to obtain or renew a HiPerGator user account.
UF persons who already have an active GatorLink account can go directly to the GatorLink-based HiPerGator account request form.
A prospective HiPerGator user who doesn’t have a UF GatorLink or an account with an institution that is a member of the InCommon Federation must request an External GatorLink account. This also applies to current HiPerGator users who will be leaving UF if they fall into the External GatorLink user category when their GatorLink account expires. UF Academic Departments can also provide departmental affiliation for External GatorLink Users. If the Departmental GatorLink account management option is not available to you, please use the Research Computing Affiliated External GatorLink account request form to request a UFIT Research Computing Affiliated External GatorLink account, which can then be used to request an HiPerGator account via the GatorLink-based HiPerGator account request form. Note that an RC-affiliated External GatorLink account must be renewed, generally yearly, but depending on the agreement with the respective department or sponsor. The Research Computing Affiliated External Gatorlink account request form is also used for requesting a renewal of the affiliation.
