External Gatorlink Accounts

HiPerGator accounts use institutional account authentication. Depending on the authentication credentials used, HiPerGator accounts can be classified as UF internal, InCommon federated, or External. UF internal HiPerGator accounts use GatorLink credentials for authentication. Federated HiPerGator accounts use federated institutional credentials. A prospective HiPerGator user who doesn’t have a UF GatorLink or an account with an InCommon Federation member institution must request an External GatorLink account and work with UFIT HelpDesk to obtain it before they will be able to submit a GatorLink-based HiPerGator account request. This also applies to current HiPerGator users who will be leaving UF if they fall into the external user category when their GatorLink account expires.
