Setting Your LaTeX Compiler for Accessibility

The LaTeX thesis/dissertation template has been updated as of Fall 2026 for accessibility. To make sure that your compiler is set up correctly for accessibility in the template, follow these steps:

  • In your LaTeX thesis/dissertation project in Overleaf, go to File in the top lefthand corner.
  • From the File dropdown menu, go to Settings.
  • From the Settings menu, navigate to Compiler.
  • Check to make sure that the Compiler is set to LuaLaTex.
  • Check to make sure that the TeX Live version is set to 2025.
  • Once the compiler settings are configured, exit out of Settings and recompile your document.
